1. Get familiar with the beliefs and doctrines of the church. Be sure that your values are in line with their expectations and requirements.
2. Meet with the official at least once before the wedding day to review any expectations in regards to the order of ceremony; discuss items required to carry out any special rituals; ask for permission regarding use of candles, secular music and review any attire requirements or restrictions if any.
3. Visit the ceremony site with your wedding planner. They will be able to point out potential hazards or bring to light things you might not have thought about. Doing this will ensure that things run smoothly at your rehearsal and on your wedding day.
