Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas

The Christmas season is officially upon us. Green and gold decor adorn city streets, mini lights dress the houses, lighting up the neighborhood streets with luminous festivity. Santa has arrived from the North Pole and awaits the children's requests in a mall near you.
The winter weather has begun to greet us kindly and the makings of a white Christmas is in the air.

REFLECT
The end of the year is nearing. It's a time to reflect on the last 11 months and evaluate the goodness of the year that is just about done.

EMBRACE
Gather lists of those you love, and be sure to let them know how you really feel about them. Not by giving them an extravagant gift. But through heartfelt words, a warm embrace and kind gestures of love. Life is way too short. Make most of each day. Love those you love with all your heart. Be tolerant of those you hate, and learn from their faults. Forgive everyone who has ever done you wrong, and engage pleasantly with everyone you come in contact with.

REMEMBER
There are many who have celebrated the merriment of new births, promotions, opportunities and good times this year. Simultaneously, some are mourning love ones lost, misfortunes faced and sadness of all kinds. Whatever this season means to you, embrace it. Enjoy creating or remembering the most memorable of times with your loved ones. Live life with all you have in you because...

...Like this season, it will all too soon be over.

Orange Flair

Congrats to Charlene and Dave who got married on June 8, 2007.
There will be more pictures to come. The pictures above are shots of the orange bridesmaids bouquets. The bridesmaids dresses were a similar shade of orange while the bride's stunning white gown complemented her white rose bouquet.

Wedding Location

Finding the perfect location for your wedding can be the hardest task of all!

He has finally popped the question. You have the ring, you've announced your engagement, and now....
....and now its time to plan your wedding! But how do start? One of the first tasks is to figure out where you want to get married.
Here are some things to think about when making your decision...

1) Consider the city?- do you want the best of what the big city has to offer or would you rather a quite quaint location in the suburb or the country? Where do most of your guests live? Will this be a deciding factor in choosing my ceremony or reception location? Do you require a big place or a small place? Do you want a huge extravagant wedding or a small intimate one?

2) Do a destination? sometimes the thought of eloping with your sweetie pie is the most enticing idea. Is this a good one for you? Will the most important people to you be able to make it? do you want a hot spot? unique destination? or a destination with historical significance and charm?

3) Take me to the church? do you want to have the ceremony in a place of worship? Or would you rather something completely different? Some couples have chosen boats, planes, parks, backyards, or even skyscrapers as their ideal spot to to tie the knot. In order to determine a great place for you, reflect on who you are as a couple and how your personalities can be best expressed through your ceremony & reception location.

No matter where you choose, find a reputable venue that has professional staff, years of experience and provides superior client service. Ask your wedding planner for places that they can recommend. Once you have found a great place to tie the knot, the rest is a piece of cake! ...or is it....?

LAST MINUTE Mother's Day IDEAS

Here are some UNIQUE Mother's Day IDEAS for those who were just thinking of making that last minute dash to the flower shop!

1) you and mom go for a for coffee together if you have not done so in a long time. Take a long drive to a coffee shop by the lake or in cottage country. Have a good old fashion chat along the way about those childhood memories that make you appreciate her the most.

2) create "clean-your-house" coupons for mother and deposit them in a personalized mother's day card. Offer to redeem a coupon whenever she wants. Then, get your rubber gloves ready to wash dishes, vacuum her house or do any other household chore of her choice.

3) put together a photo collage of pictures you have taken of her and the family. Frame them and add a caption like "collage of love" or "mother's day tribute". Have your collage turned into a place mat or transferred onto fabric to make a commemorative pillow.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

To all the mother's out there, Marcia J and Phenomenal Events wishes you a
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

I am very grateful for my loving mother, strong grandmother and all the "likeamothers" that I have out there. I have been lucky enough to have many women of wisdom take me under their wing and treat me like their own. Here is a photo of my youngest bambino and one of my likeagrandmothers. Be sure to cherish your mother or find a "likeamother" to cherish tomorrow on Mother's Day!

Always a Bridesmaid Never a Bride?

TOP FIVE PLACES TO MEET THE MAN OF YOUR DREAMS

A lot of singles planning parties and business events have been viewing our site so this blog entry is just for you. Here are Phenomenal Events' TOP 5 PLACES to meet the man of your dreams. Hang out in these spots and you are sure to be walking down the aisle towards your own nuptials pretty soon!

#5 - Cyberspace: many people are using the internet to meet the love of their lives. I know at least two people who met their sweet heart through internet dating services or chat rooms and are very happily entangled in one another's web of love. Caution must be used when meeting people you met on the internet face to face for the first time. Be sure to meet in a public place and even bring a friend with you.

#4-Work: although I would not recommend mixing work with pleasure, some people have found this to be the best place to meet someone because, hey, they spend most of their day at work. You get to know your coworkers pretty well when you see them every single day and have to work with them closely. Hopefully Mr. hot stuff is not your boss-this may cause a potential conflict of interest.

#3-Gym: I spotted him across a crowded weight room. As he pumped iron, my heart raced and beads of nervous sweat dripped down my face -of course that was because I paced frantically on the treadmill... makes for a corny beginning to a wonderful romance but having fitness and health in common is one of the greatest things about meeting your love at a gym.

#2- Church-or your place of worship -Hey, that is where I met my husband! He came to my church to visit and there we were introduced to one another. Who would have ever predicted that ten years later we would be happily married with a house and a couple of kids.

#1-At a Wedding! Get your sling backs strapped on and your bridesmaid dress nicely fitted because your future husband may be at the wedding you plan to attend this summer! And be sure to call Phenomenal Events to plan your special day when it comes, after all, we technically would have been the ones to bring you two together!

Terrific Thai

If you are looking for a great Thai restaurant, I found the lemongrass to be quite delightful, (especially because there seems to be a shortage of great restaurants in Peel Region). I enjoyed a quiet dinner with some old friends this past Wednesday evening. Thanks Laurie and Kerry for a great evening out without the kids, although we spent a lot of time talking about our little angels! Lemongrass has a few locations in Toronto. We went to the Mississauga location at the Square One. They had great food and an upscale, chic atmosphere. I especially liked the tender chicken satay, Vietnamese spring roll and the drunken shrimp and broccoli. ummm....

Leave a Trail

Here's an inspirational quote for all those who are considering a new venture.

Do not follow where the path may lead.

Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls

I'm Headed for Niagara Falls this weekend for both business and pleasure. I will be enjoying a great ladies getaway, as well as searching for a quaint venue for a bride who lives abroad and plans to get married in Canada this summer. I am hoping to do some cross boarder shopping, get lots of rest and do a little bit of business. Wish me well! I'll take lots of pictures for my blog entry next week.
